Chapter 3: Bloody Shock
“This is the place!”
Arriving at the entrance of the ‘Great Fortune’ private room, Yin Qingqing pointed at the doorplate and turned to the crowd behind her. “When I left earlier, I saw Yi An entering this private room.”
“Should we go in now?”
It had been over an hour already.
Based on her understanding of He Haiguang from her previous life, this duration had already reached the limit of what his body could endure.
As for whether he carried medication with him like in her previous life—that wasn’t within her consideration.
In any case, her purpose in bringing everyone here today was to cement Shen Yi’an’s reputation as someone improper and promiscuous.
Once she gained such a bad reputation, not only would marriage into the Li Family be impossible, but she wouldn’t even get the chance to meet Li Beichen.
This way, Yin Qingqing would have the opportunity to get close to Li Beichen and enter the Li Family.
By then, even the Yin father and son who never paid her any mind might have to curry favor with her to get closer to the Li Family.
The others were unaware of Yin Qingqing’s thoughts. Hearing her question, they all turned their attention to the class monitor.
Since the class monitor had organized this event, the decision to enter rested entirely with him.
Being a class cadre, however, the monitor considered things more carefully than the others.
Private rooms in dance halls weren’t places just anyone could enter—without some background or influence, one wouldn’t even get near them.
But then he remembered they were all university students, part of the ‘Class of 77.’
No matter how powerful the people inside were, they’d likely show some respect. So he nodded and stepped forward to knock on the door.
“Comrade, sorry to disturb you!”
“Our class gathering has ended. We’re here to notify Shen Yi’an to return to the university with us.”
“May we come in?”
After asking, they waited quietly but heard not a single sound in response.
A male student thought the monitor’s voice wasn’t loud enough for those inside to hear, so he shouted three times at the top of his lungs.
Still, there was no response. Everyone began to feel that something was wrong.
If there were people inside the private room, even if they were angry, they would have yelled back—they wouldn’t remain completely silent like this.
Could it be that no one was inside?
Noticing the uncertainty in everyone’s eyes, the little figure in Yin Qingqing’s mind was already roaring with laughter.
It seemed the two inside had exhausted themselves from their intense encounter and fallen into a deep sleep.
Even if they weren’t asleep but had already left, the scene they left behind should still be utterly disheveled.
It would do these inexperienced youngsters good to witness an even more shocking scene.
Thinking this, Yin Qingqing feigned panic and moved to push open the private room door. “Yi An! Yi An, are you in there?”
“Yi An, if you don’t come out, we’re coming in!”
“We’re really coming in now!”
After three consecutive shouts, she forcefully pushed the door open.
To create a more impactful effect, she pretended to fumble along the wall by the entrance for a while before pulling the light cord.
Click!
With a crisp sound, the dim private room instantly brightened.
Those who followed her in were immediately struck by the visual shock.
A man lay near the coffee table, a pool of blood spreading beneath his head.
The most shocking part was the beer bottle fragments and spilled alcohol mixed together at the man’s crotch, faintly tinged with red liquid.
Anyone with a brain would immediately understand what had happened.
While the male students present contorted their faces in horror, the female students screamed uncontrollably.
“Ah! Murder! There’s been a murder!”
“Someone’s dead! Someone’s dead!”
“Call the police! Quick, call the police! Someone died in the dance hall!”
“Who could be so vicious, actually smashing someone’s… manhood to pieces!”
Amid the surrounding screams, Yin Qingqing was dumbfounded when she saw the scene.
Why was the person involved He Haiguang?
Shouldn’t it have been Shen Yi’an?
Right, where was Shen Yi’an?
Full of doubts, Yin Qingqing couldn’t help but look around frantically.
To firmly pin this mess on Shen Yi’an, she pretended to be panicked and loudly called her name, “Yi’an! Shen Yi’an!”
“Shen Yi’an, where are you? Come out quickly!”
“Don’t be afraid! The classmates are all here to save you! Can you answer me?”
“Shen Yi’an! Shen Yi’an!”
Seeing Yin Qingqing’s worried expression, classmates unaware of the truth tried to comfort her.
“Classmate Yin Qingqing, don’t worry!”
“The room is only this big; if someone were hiding, we’d spot them at a glance.”
“Yeah, maybe you saw wrong. Classmate Shen Yi’an must have entered a different private room!”
“Impossible!” Hearing classmates speak up for Shen Yi’an, Yin Qingqing’s voice instantly turned shrill.
“I saw with my own eyes that she entered this private room, I swear!”
“But where is she? How could she not be here?”
“Could it be she killed someone and ran away in fear?”
The moment these words left her mouth, she quickly covered it, mumbling something about overthinking and misspeaking.
But with so many people present, everyone had their own judgments.
Some thought it impossible.
After all, Classmate Shen Yi’an gave the impression of being warm and cheerful, completely unlike someone who would do something bad.
Others thought it possible.
After all, appearances can be deceiving; perhaps they had been fooled by Classmate Shen Yi’an’s outward demeanor.
The two sides argued their points.
Although anxious, Yin Qingqing felt there was still room for the situation to turn around.
As long as Shen Yi’an remained missing for a day, He Haiguang’s anger couldn’t be directed at her.
Even though she was the one who brought him here, failing to keep an eye on him wasn’t her fault.
Just as chaos reigned at the scene, the dance hall manager, hearing the commotion, was the first to arrive at the private room.
Upon seeing clearly who was lying on the floor, he immediately ordered the men in black behind him.
“Surround the private room; no one is allowed to leave!”
“Brother Guang’s people can be let in first when they arrive, and medical personnel too.”
“No one else is allowed to move!”
“If anyone dares to sneak away, break one of their legs on the spot!”
Hearing the manager’s orders, the men in black at the door instantly dispersed around the area.
After ensuring everyone present had entered the private room, they immediately stood at attention with their hands behind their backs, their eyes scanning the encircled crowd as if searching for something.
This development was somewhat sudden, and everyone present was terrified.
Including Yin Qingqing.
She only knew that He Haiguang was a big shot with connections in both the underworld and legitimate circles, but now she was witnessing his influence firsthand.
Even though he lay on the floor, his condition unknown, he could still make the dance hall manager break out in a cold sweat.
Though aware it wasn’t the best time to step forward, to tarnish Shen Yi’an’s reputation and curry favor with Li Beichen and the Li Family, she still stepped out with an awkward smile.
“Manager Lin, I know you’re doing this to protect the scene.”
“But my best friend is missing, could you have someone help look for her?”
“Her name is Shen Yi’an, I saw with my own eyes that she entered the private room, but when I came looking, all I saw was…”
She didn’t finish her sentence, but her outstretched hand pointed toward the person lying in a pool of blood.
Upon hearing this, Lin Wenxiong, the dance hall manager, furrowed his brows and looked at her. “You’re saying your friend named Shen Yi’an entered the private room?”
“Who invited her? Did you see anyone else go in?”
Facing his unfriendly expression, Yin Qingqing shrank back, retreating two steps. “No! No!”
“I only saw Shen Yi’an go in, I didn’t see anyone else enter!”
Seeing that she didn’t appear to be lying, Lin Wenxiong knitted his brows and began pondering the connections.
Just as the scene fell into temporary silence, a clear female voice suddenly rang out, “Excuse me, could you please let me through!”
“My classmates are surrounded by you all – have they done something wrong?”
She even scratched her head in confusion, “But that can’t be right!”
“Today is our class graduation gathering before leaving school – they definitely wouldn’t do anything bad.”
“There must be some misunderstanding here, right?”
