Chapter 63: Evidence of Taking Someone Else’s Exam Results
Along with Tongtong’s school application, the procedures at the school were handled quickly.
Tongtong was in preschool class, which was relatively simple.
However, for Si Muchen to attend elementary school, he had to take an entrance test and then be assigned to the corresponding grade.
Seeing that he was already quite old, the principal initially wanted to place him in third grade to try it out, but Muchen directly requested fifth-grade classes.
He didn’t want to deal with those younger kids in the lower grades.
As for why it was fifth grade… because the fifth-grade classroom was closest to the preschool class.
The principal wasn’t entirely sure if he could keep up with the pace of fifth grade, so he asked the director of teaching to bring out a set of fifth-grade math and Chinese test papers.
Si Muchen remained expressionless, picked up a pen, and began answering the questions almost without hesitation, his speed astonishingly fast.
For the complex word problems on the math paper, he often only needed to read the question once to write out the formula.
In less than half an hour, he completed both test papers. The teachers graded them on the spot, and the result was a perfect score!
The principal and teachers were so shocked they couldn’t speak!
This was simply a genius!
Only Gu Yanbin remained the calmest.
He knew exactly what his nephew was like—he had inherited his parents’ high intelligence.
It was just a pity… something had happened to the Si family.
Sigh!
“Comrade Si Muchen, have you… really never attended school before?” the principal asked incredulously.
Si Muchen nodded calmly. “I’ve read some books at home on my own.”
The principal let out a sigh of relief.
He happily said to Gu Yanbin, “Congratulations, Commander Gu! Your family has produced a promising seedling!”
Gu Yanbin didn’t bother being modest. “Then you’d better nurture this promising seedling of mine well!”
The two of them discussed the procedures needed for enrollment, and only then did Gu Yanbin take the children home.
In the end, Si Muchen was directly placed in fifth grade, becoming the youngest student in the class.
Tongtong was in the preschool class.
The two classrooms weren’t far apart.
When Tongtong heard the news, she was overjoyed. “Then I can go to and from school with Brother Muchen from now on!”
Si Muchen’s lips curved upward as he nodded.
Gu Jingnan wailed, “Why isn’t middle school placed next to the preschool class? It’s not fair! I want to go to school with Sister Tongtong too!”
The middle school and elementary school were located in completely opposite directions—one in the south and the other in the north.
Tongtong covered her mouth and giggled quietly, gently tugging her brother’s hand.
“It’s okay, Brother Jingnan. We can still leave together.”
Gu Jingnan’s eyes lit up. “That works too!”
The three little ones agreed to set off together for school the next day.
Yu Wanqin took Tongtong to buy a new backpack and stationery, but at the supply and marketing cooperative, they ran into Shen Wei, who was also there to buy stationery for her child.
Seeing the pink tin stationery box with cartoon patterns in Tongtong’s small hands, a flash of malice crossed Lin Jiaojiao’s eyes.
She took two steps forward and deliberately bumped into Tongtong.
Yu Wanqin’s expression changed, wanting to pull her daughter away, but it was too late.
“Thud!”
Lin Jiaojiao crashed straight into Tongtong but was suddenly flung backward, landing hard on the ground.
Two of her front teeth fell out.
Clutching her bloody mouth, she burst into terrified wails.
As for Tongtong… not even the two tufts of hair on her head were harmed.
Lin Ruihu looked at Tongtong fearfully, shrinking his neck and covering his own mouth.
He thought to himself, Thank goodness it wasn’t me who bumped into her. That looks painful.
Shen Wei’s eyes turned venomous as she pointed at Tongtong and cursed loudly, “You little bitch! How dare you push my daughter!”
Yu Wanqin shielded her daughter behind her, her gaze icy: “Shen Wei! Anyone with eyes can see it was your daughter who ran into us!”
“And! If you dare insult my daughter again, don’t blame me for being impolite!”
Whenever it came to her daughter, she would bristle with thorns all over.
Her cold, fierce aura frightened Shen Wei into taking two steps back.
Then, growing even angrier, Shen Wei’s eyes darted around before she hugged Lin Jiaojiao, whose mouth was full of blood, and began to cry: “Sister-in-law, you’re going too far!”
“You rely on having the Army Commander as your god-kin, had the hospital fire me, ruined my life, and now you’re attacking me and my daughter. We’re just ordinary people—my husband died early for the country—you can’t bully us widows and orphans like this!”
Her tears came on cue, her voice loud enough for passersby to hear.
Everyone couldn’t help but glance over.
Tongtong immediately tightened her grip on her mother’s hand, her little face tense as she watched Shen Wei warily.
Yu Wanqin’s expression turned cold: “Shen Wei! Don’t make false accusations! You were fired from the hospital because you brought it on yourself! It has nothing to do with anyone else!”
“Brought it on myself?” Shen Wei covered her face, crying with genuine-looking emotion: “It’s clearly because you didn’t want Zhi Guo to help us, so you deliberately schemed behind my back to get me fired… sob… I’m just a woman, what can I do? I have two children to raise, no job, what am I supposed to do…”
She grew more agitated as she spoke, and Lin Jiaojiao and Lin Ruihu hugged her, wailing loudly.
The onlookers whispered among themselves.
Those who didn’t know the truth looked at Yu Wanqin with disapproval.
Especially since Shen Wei claimed to be a martyr’s widow, she naturally occupied the moral high ground, earning sympathy.
Some even spoke up for her.
“Her husband was a martyr, he died for the country, and she has two children. It’s not easy for her. What kind of grudge is so deep that you have to drive her to ruin?”
“Yeah, look how pitiful they are, mother and children!”
“Sigh! This woman looks gentle, but she’s so cruel…”
Yu Wanqin’s face darkened with anger as she spoke coldly: “You were fired from the hospital because you impersonated someone else’s exam results, failed your performance evaluations for three consecutive years, tried to push my daughter into the river, bullied a child, and had poor character. All of this was clearly investigated by The Organization! Don’t try to twist the truth!”
Shen Wei’s breath hitched, then she gave a bitter smile: “Whatever you say.”
The more she spoke like this, the more others suspected there was more to the story.
Mainly because everyone had already formed a preconceived notion and felt sympathy for her.
It was difficult to correct that impression in such a short time.
“Auntie!” Tongtong suddenly stepped out from behind her mother, tilting her little face up, her voice clear and childish: “I have evidence here that you impersonated someone else’s exam results~”
Everyone looked over and saw the little girl holding a newspaper in her hand.
She smiled slightly and unfolded the newspaper for everyone to see.
On it was clearly an interview and statement from the girl whose exam results Shen Wei had impersonated!
The words were sharp and hit the mark.
The victim also explained that after Shen Wei impersonated her results, she couldn’t stay in the city. After returning to her village, her parents forced her to marry. After becoming pregnant, she was abused by her husband, which left her with permanent leg disabilities and disfigurement. She also lost her child due to the abuse and suffered lifelong gynecological issues.
Shen Wei, however, entered the Military District Hospital with great fanfare, yet she did not focus on her work or delve into her professional duties. She repeatedly caused medical accidents, such as administering the wrong medication or making incorrect injections.
It was enough to make people furious!
It could be said that the victim’s tragic experiences over the past few years were all due to Shen Wei, the impostor!
Shen Wei was left speechless, her face alternating between pale and flushed. Pointing at Tongtong, she trembled with rage: “You… you little wretch! You’re framing me! This newspaper is fake! Fake!”
But no one believed her.
