Old Mrs. Lin rolled her eyes. “Who did you run into that got you so worked up?”

Shen Wei snorted. “Who else could it be? It was Second Sister-in-law and Tongtong. They were carrying so many mooncakes. I thought they were bringing them to you, but who would’ve guessed they were distributing them to others in the family compound.”

Shen Wei sighed. “Mom, don’t go and humiliate yourself. She’s under the Commander’s mother’s protection now, and she’s a military doctor. She’s not on the same side as us at all. If you go, you’ll just get chased out.”

Old Mr. Lin’s face remained dark.

Shen Wei saw it and rejoiced in her heart.
