Chapter 95: Smashing Everything to Pieces
Yu Wanqin met her daughter’s sparkling eyes and instantly understood her meaning without even needing to think.
“Tongtong is right! Since they don’t want it, we’ll handle it ourselves!”
Si Muchen, seemingly out of nowhere, produced a large and a small axe, silently handing them over.
Mother and daughter exchanged a glance, then charged in with axes in hand, full of fierce determination.
They looked as if they were about to chop someone down.
The onlookers were so frightened they rushed to intervene: “Oh! Sister Wanqin, don’t be impulsive! Killing is against the law!”
But then they saw Little Tongtong dash over and swing her axe at an old cabinet!
Crack! The cabinet split right down the middle!
“This half belongs to Mom!” She then ran to a table, struggling to lift her little axe. “This half belongs to Mom too!”
Yu Wanqin no longer hesitated. Suppressing her anger and resentment, she began dividing the “joint property” right in front of everyone.
They didn’t want the items—they wanted a clean break!
Crack! Bang!
The kitchen cabinet was smashed open, and Tongtong pulled out all the bowls inside.
They shattered into pieces all over the floor!
Yu Wanqin followed closely behind, smashing enamel mugs, thermoses, chopsticks, and seasonings—everything was pounded into fragments!
The onlookers stared wide-eyed: “Oh! Wanqin, Tongtong, what are you doing? So many things—what a waste!”
Yu Wanqin turned back and smiled at everyone. “It’s nothing. Since we’re separating, let’s make it a clean break, so no one can accuse me of lingering attachments or taking up space with my things!”
The crowd fell silent.
They all understood—Yu Wanqin was venting her anger!
And it was Shen Wei’s own fault. The divorce was already settled, and they would have moved out in a couple of days. Why did she have to stir up trouble?
It had to be said, Yu Wanqin’s approach was ruthless! And so satisfying! She was tearing off all pretenses, leaving no trace of sentiment behind!
And Little Tongtong—despite her small arms and legs, her little hands were surprisingly strong.
With one swing of the axe, she could smash a huge hole in a cabinet, making the aunties and older women’s eyelids twitch.
Someone curiously asked, “Tongtong, why do you keep shouting ‘eighty’?”
Tongtong blinked her big, dark eyes and shook her little head. “I don’t know… I just feel like shouting it gives me extra strength!”
She didn’t say it was because she’d seen her mom do it in her past life.
Whenever Mom smashed things, she’d shout “eighty”—probably because of some Chinese comedy sketch… but that didn’t matter now.
Tongtong gave everyone an innocent, soft smile before turning back to continue smashing things. “Eighty! Heave-ho! Eighty…”
Si Muchen stayed by his sister’s side the whole time, making sure she didn’t fall or get hurt.
By the time Shen Wei heard the commotion and rushed over, mother and daughter had already smashed up most of the kitchen.
Her face turned green with rage!
Looking at the mess on the floor, her heart ached with pain!
Many of these things were what they had bought together before, and even the fine white porcelain bowls Yu Wanqin had purchased after arriving—she hadn’t been willing to throw them away.
What she had discarded were Yu Wanqin and Tongtong’s personal belongings, while the good-quality items that could still be used, she had secretly kept for herself.
Now! Everything was gone!
“What are you doing!” Shen Wei was so angry her heart, liver, and lungs felt like they were on fire, her voice cracking with fury.
Broken porcelain and glass shards were everywhere. Cabinets, small stools, water jars… all chopped to pieces. Pots, bowls, ladles, and basins—all smashed with gaping holes.
Yu Wanqin looked at the mess on the floor and sneered, “Feeling heartbroken? This is just the beginning!”
She strode forward with an air of utter disregard, pushed Shen Wei aside, and headed toward the living room with the axe in hand.
Tongtong immediately toddled after her on her short little legs.
Once again, the sound of banging and smashing echoed from the living room next door.
Shen Wei’s eyes reddened with rage. “Yu Wanqin, you bitch! Stop! Stop it!”
Too afraid to approach the axe-wielding, frenzied Yu Wanqin, she decided to target Tongtong, who was following behind.
She reached out to grab Tongtong by the collar.
Si Muchen’s expression darkened. “System!”
【Got it! Understood! Host, just watch!】
The next moment, Shen Wei tripped and fell right into the pile of shattered porcelain.
A pig-slaughter-like wail erupted from the kitchen.
Tongtong turned around, blinked her big eyes, and smiled. “Eldest Aunt, why do you like sleeping on the floor? Is it because the bed isn’t hard enough?”
“But don’t worry, you’ll soon have no bed to sleep on at all!”
With that, she charged into the living room with her axe and began hacking away at the large bed with a series of thuds.
Shen Wei trembled in pain, but no one came to help her up. It was Zhu Xiuxiu, who had come over after hearing the commotion, who finally helped her to her feet.
Gnashing her teeth in hatred, she muttered, “Bitches! All of you are bitches!”
Zhu Xiuxiu feigned concern. “Oh dear, Shen Wei, you’re pregnant! Are you alright?”
Shen Wei took a deep breath, clutching her stomach, and gritted her teeth as she turned to Lin Ruihu. “Go! Call your father back! Tell him they’ve gone crazy and are smashing everything at home!”
Lin Ruihu’s knees were still aching, but he reluctantly ran off to do as he was told.
By then, Tongtong had already barged into the bedroom.
Damn it!
Shen Wei had thrown away their clothes, but seeing the bedding and other items Mother had brought—all good quality, pure cotton, and beautifully patterned—she had kept them all for herself.
Tongtong didn’t hesitate. These things were tainted now, and she would get Mother new ones.
When Yu Wanqin entered and saw the situation, she thought for a moment before dragging all the items out into the yard.
She distributed them among the onlooking women, smiling brightly. “Sisters, these are things I bought myself—they have nothing to do with them. If you don’t mind, please take them!”
These were all good-quality items!
The patterns were lovely, and they felt soft to the touch!
The onlookers were delighted, eagerly snatching and dividing everything among themselves.
Yu Wanqin handled the rest of the belongings the same way.
Anything she and Tongtong had acquired later was given away, while the remaining items were split in half and smashed to pieces.
Supported by Zhu Xiuxiu, Shen Wei came out and saw the women dividing the goods.
Among them were the bedding, nutritional supplements, cosmetics, and other things she had eyed and planned to keep for herself… They all looked like such fine items!
“Don’t take them! You’re not allowed to take them!” she stomped her feet in frustration, shrieking. “Those are my things!”
Having already benefited, the women ignored her even more, rolling their eyes at her words. “Your things? These all belong to Sister Wanqin! You really have no shame—first stealing someone else’s husband, and now trying to steal their belongings and house! Serves you right for losing your job and staying poor forever!”
“Exactly! You’ve gotten addicted to taking what belongs to others, and now you’re paying the price! Why not accumulate some virtue for the child in your belly instead of stirring up trouble all the time? Pah!”
The women continued to gather the items into their arms while hurling insults without pause.
was completely won over by Yu Wanqin.
Shen Wei was so angry she saw stars. Seeing that she couldn’t stop the people on this side, she could only try to stop those inside.
But the devastating scene inside only made her despair even more.
Tables, chairs, wooden beds… anything that could be split was split, anything that could be smashed was smashed!
In the end, Tongtong even tore down the doors and windows with a crash!
“All of this! Half of it belongs to my mom! We’ll take it away to use as firewood! We won’t leave it for you to use!”
Tongtong’s little face was stern, her voice clear and crisp.
Shen Wei watched as the house was rapidly dismantled into a scattered, ruin-like mess, both furious and anxious.
“You’re insane! You’re all insane! Yu Wanqin! Stop this right now!”
Zhu Xiuxiu couldn’t stand it any longer. Putting on the airs of the Regimental Commander’s wife, she spoke sarcastically:
“Yu Wanqin, that’s enough now. Show some mercy where you can—don’t push things to the extreme, or you might face retribution. Shen Wei is, after all, a martyr’s family member, protected by the state, and now she’s pregnant too. Can’t you be a little more generous?”
