Chapter 5: Touch Me Again, and See If I Don't Kill You?
She wondered if there was any way to travel back.
Although she was confident she could change the ending and get a sum of money from Si Jinhan, her life here would certainly be no worse than it had been in the real world.
Still, she always felt as if she didn't belong here.
Besides, Song Wanwan was about to return. Who knew what she might do to target her?
After feeling melancholy for a while, Song Yunwei finished all her food, picked up her bag, and got to her feet.
Sitting not far away, Shen Jinnian listened to his client while occasionally glancing at Song Yunwei from the corner of his eye.
One second, she was still in her seat. The next, she was gone.
He didn't know why he had been paying attention to his friend's wife. Perhaps the Song Yunwei Si Jinhan had mentioned before had simply been too boring.
--
Song Yunwei wandered around until evening, then took a cab back to the Si family home.
Nanny Wang appeared like a ghost, still smiling without warmth. “Young Madam, it's time for dinner.”
“Uh... and then?” Song Yunwei didn't understand.
She was already full and had even bought some snacks to keep on hand. It was perfectly fine if she skipped dinner.
Nanny Wang frowned. “Didn't you say that you would personally cook for Mister every evening? You fainted from low blood sugar last night. Are you still not planning to cook today?”
The original owner had studied recipes every day, firmly believing that to win a man's heart, one first had to win his stomach.
The Si family had specially hired a five-star chef, who prepared the original owner's breakfast and lunch every day. When Si Jinhan came home in the evening, she personally took charge of the cooking.
Song Yunwei remembered. There really had been such a plot point in the book.
Back then, while gnawing on a bread roll that was nearly impossible to swallow, she had been completely baffled by the original owner's actions. The Si family had a five-star chef, yet she refused to use him and insisted on cooking herself. Was there some signature dish she absolutely had to show off?
Now that she had inherited this mess, she couldn't make any of the dishes the original owner excelled at.
“I get the feeling that he doesn't really like my cooking, Nanny Wang. From now on, let's have the household chef prepare dinner instead,” Song Yunwei replied shamelessly.
The smile on Nanny Wang's face faded a little. “All right.”
As soon as Song Yunwei went upstairs, Nanny Wang immediately called Bai Xianmeng.
“Madam, she can't keep up the act anymore. Tonight, she told me that the household chef should handle dinner from now on.”
Bai Xianmeng let out a cold laugh. “It's been three years. Jinhan hasn't touched her, and her family hasn't gotten any benefits from the Si family. It's normal that she can no longer keep pretending. But you saw her coming out of Jinhan's room this morning. Are you sure you weren't mistaken?”
“Absolutely not,” Nanny Wang replied.
“Remember to tell me if anything happens.” Bai Xianmeng hung up.
If the relationship between Si Jinhan and Song Yunwei had really taken a turn for the better, what would happen to the woman she had arranged for him to meet?
Song Yunwei was dignified and generous, but too much so.
What the Si family wanted most was a grandson, not a vase.
Nanny Wang went to inform the chef to prepare dinner, while Song Yunwei struggled to find her bedroom upstairs. She took out the clothes and jewelry she had bought that day and began admiring them.
She changed into the red velvet spaghetti-strap dress. The cutout at her waist revealed a slender, supple figure. Her skin, kept out of the sun year-round, was snow-white and translucent. Her long legs were shapely with just the slightest hint of fullness—utterly sexy.
What on earth had the original owner been thinking? If Song Yunwei had a figure like this, she wouldn't wear clothes when she went out!
Ahem. She was bragging.
“Mirror, mirror, tell me who the most beautiful person in the world is—ah!”
Halfway through her self-entertainment, Song Yunwei suddenly let out a shriek.
In the mirror, she saw Si Jinhan's face.
The man stood not far behind her, his eyes heavy with desire, like a beast lurking in the darkness. He was dangerously intimidating.
Si Jinhan had come specially to Song Yunwei's room to wait for her and, at the same time, check whether anything was out of place.
He hadn't expected Song Yunwei to start undressing the moment she entered the room. She had nearly stripped completely, leaving her body exposed in its entirety, with only her conservatively styled nude-colored underwear covering her trembling breasts and full buttocks.
Si Jinhan had yet to visit the secret room that evening. The sight made his entire body unbearably hot as desire surged within him.
He turned his head away, shifting his gaze elsewhere in hopes that Song Yunwei would get dressed as quickly as possible.
But then Song Yunwei had gone and bought a red dress that showed off her figure to an almost lethal degree.
“Si Jinhan, you—you—you...” Song Yunwei stammered, too frightened to speak properly.
When had he entered the room? Had he seen everything while she was changing?
“When did you start liking this kind of dress?” Si Jinhan asked, his voice slightly hoarse and inexplicably sensual.
“I just bought it on a whim.” Song Yunwei quickly composed herself. She casually grabbed the bag beside her to cover her chest and said stiffly, “I was only trying it on. It doesn't really suit me. I'll change into another one next time.”
Si Jinhan raised his hand. With his long, slender fingers, he hooked the bag and pushed it aside, tossing it onto the floor.
Song Yunwei swallowed as she watched the veins standing out on the back of his hand.
His fingertips landed on her collarbone and hooked the pearl necklace. His eyes darkened.
“You weren't wearing this when you went out. Did you buy it yourself, or did a man give it to you?”
【Those veins are so damn sexy!】
【He must look even more seductive when he's jerking off. Good lord, is this some kind of test?】
【Man, touch me again and see if I don't kill you. Hmm?】
Si Jinhan's fingertips inevitably brushed against Song Yunwei's skin, and those explicit, outrageous thoughts forcefully drilled into his mind.
He suddenly laughed.
Kill him?
Song Yunwei felt uneasy at the sound of his laughter. “I ran into Eldest Brother today. He gave it to me.”
“Wasn't it Jiang Yicheng?” Si Jinhan didn't know why that name had made such a deep impression on him.
At the mention of Jiang Yicheng, Song Yunwei's expression clearly changed.
After all, he was the man she had pursued for seven years in the real world—from the year she graduated high school until she finished three years of study abroad. And in all that time, she hadn't even managed to kiss him.
Si Jinhan didn't understand the weight of a first love.
“He was just an old friend of mine. He pursued me for a long time, but I turned him down ninety-nine times. After that, he left the country in sorrow and went far away. Your friend today looked a lot like him, so I mistook him for Jiang Yicheng.” She suppressed the tangled thoughts in her heart and lied with a perfectly serious expression.
Si Jinhan: ...
Song Yunwei took a step back. Why did the air suddenly feel so cold?
“Song Yunwei, you've hidden yourself well.” The corner of Si Jinhan's lips curved upward as he lowered his eyes to look at her. “I thought you were really as pure and desireless as you pretended to be, someone who didn't even need to leave the house. So you do have a man you can't forget.”
Song Yunwei really wanted to tell Si Jinhan: Your wife was possessed by another soul long ago. Get it?
But she held back.
Si Jinhan was practically all-powerful in terms of status and influence. He didn't know he was a character in a book, so he would never believe something like book transmigration. Nor could Song Yunwei prove that there was another version of herself in another world.
If she dared to say something like that, there was a ninety percent chance Si Jinhan would decide she was playing around with him.
She just had to endure it. Once she endured things until they got divorced, everything would be fine.
“I only saw a similar face, and it happened to bring back some memories. Jinhan, you're the only one in my heart. Really.” Song Yunwei tried to recall the original owner's usual mannerisms. She sincerely took Si Jinhan's hand as she declared this, but somehow, everything that came out of her mouth sounded wrong.
Sure enough, she wasn't the original Song Yunwei.
【Damn it, who doesn't have a past? You're going to have sex with Song Wanwan in our marital bed someday. Did I say anything?】
【You don't even love me, yet you still want to control me. Does being handsome mean you can stick your nose into everyone's business?】
【Careful, or I'll flick your dick.】
Si Jinhan's face turned black.
He stared at Song Yunwei's innocent-looking face, but there was no way to ignore the crude remarks filling his mind.
What on earth was she thinking?!!
Seeing Si Jinhan's expression grow worse and worse, Song Yunwei hurriedly let go of his hand.
If she had known she would transmigrate into a book, she should have chosen the Central Academy of Drama when applying for college.
With acting skills like that, she definitely would have been able to fool Si Jinhan without him noticing a thing.
