They escaped through the back of the building. Kara was furious. “You keep giving me half the truth!” Ethan remained silent. “Who is Black Meridian?” “A private organization.” “What do they want?” “You.” “Why?” Ethan stopped walking. “Because you're connected to Project Shadow.” Kara shook her head. “I've never heard of it.” “You weren't supposed to.” Ethan showed her an old photograph. Kara immediately recognized the two people standing beside him. Her parents. Her hands began to tremble. “My parents died years ago.” Ethan looked at her. “That isn't what happened.” Kara stared at him. “What are you saying?” “They're alive.”
